Inspired by the silent ritual of chess, the Tempo coffee table is conceived as an object defined by movement and placement. Its vertical, sculptural composition, entirely crafted in solid wood, recalls a chess piece placed on the board, inviting careful and conscious positioning within space.
When lifted and set down, the solid wood base meets the floor with a soft, resonant sound that echoes the tactile gesture of moving a chess piece. This subtle moment becomes part of the object’s experience.
Enriched by Zanat’s distinctive hand-carving technique, Tempo celebrates the tactile and visual qualities of sculpted wood. The patterns create depth and rhythm across the surface, inviting the hand to follow their relief as light and shadow gently move across the carved planes.
